Category Manager – Food Service, Sheetz

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:

The Category Manager will focus on the growth and profitability of multiple low volume categories or one or more high volume categories. The primary responsibility is to execute the product category strategies to achieve the objectives of the company’s annual marketing plan. This role has day-to-day responsibility for all category-related activities including forecasting, pricing, P&L management, product assortment management, correspondence with Sales, development of marketing initiatives, and management of cross-functional project teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (other duties may be assigned)
Provide customer focused insights regarding the product and category.
Create and develop a long term plan and strategy for development of the category.
Accountability for revenue, units and gross margin dollars and gross margin percentage for all assigned categories.
Drive category relationships with suppliers and retailers.
Lead category ranging, pricing and promotions across customer channels.
Lead category management projects to optimize ranges and related merchandising.
Work alongside customer and marketing teams to translate customer insights into strategies which drive performance.
Develop strong working relationships with buying, marketing and merchandising teams.
Maximize the development of internal talent through regular performance coaching, performance reviews and presenting developmental opportunities.
Align area objectives with the strategic goals of the department

REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)

Education
High School degree required
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred
Experience
Minimum 7 year’s Category Management experience required
Minimum 3 years Supervisory experience required
